atg UV Technology, market leaders in Ultraviolet disinfection systems has supplied Halghton Fisheries, a leading Trout farm based in Wrexham, North Wales with a medium pressure UVL Ultraviolet disinfection system for its new Trout hatchery. The state-of-the-art atg UV Technology system will treat make-up water, sourced from a borehole supply before it enters the hatchery environment and will continue to provide disinfection on a recirculation loop to further prevent the risk of disease.

The UVL disinfection system provides protection against a range of Infectious diseases, in fish farms and hatcheries and has lead to the production of healthier and larger fish, improved water quality, increases in stock density and has vastly reduced the risk of low mortality rates.

Ultraviolet disinfection systems are perfectly suited to aquaculture applications as they are chemical free, automatic and cannot be overdosed, therefore maintaining the physical characteristics of the water such as PH levels and temperature whilst avoiding the introduction of harmful chemicals such as chlorine into the environment.
