Industrial
Water is often used as a product, or as part of the manufacturing process. In many industrial applications, processes are chemical (chlorine) intolerant, and UV is widely adopted. atg UV Technology engineers will be pleased to discuss solving disinfection problems with you.
As well as a powerful disinfectant, UV is used to remove chlorine, chloramines, ozone, bromine, and a wide variety of contaminants from industrial process water. Within micro-electronics facilities for example, UV is used to remove Total Organic Carbon (TOC) from ultra pure rinse water.
New applications of UV include the disinfection of Cranberry juice, Orange juice, meat brines, marinades, and most recently to disinfect Ballast Water on ocean going vessels to prevent to transit of invasive species that get introduced when vessels discharge ballast water at the destination port. Zebra mussel veligers are also disinfected using UV light.
This section of the website details the industrial applications for the various common industries where UV is used as an effective treatment. The applications listed here are by no means exhaustive, if a process exists that is not detailed here it is highly likely that our engineering team have experience of the process or at least the means to investigate whether UV is suitable for the application.
