atg UV Director's Himalayan Adventure
Managing director of atg UV Technology, Chris Purslow has returned from the Himalayas, Nepal, where Chris and his team successfully reached the summit of Island Peak, which stands at a height of 20,306ft and lies in the shadow of Mount Everest.
It took Chris and his team little under three weeks to complete their expedition reaching the summit of Island Peak on day ten of the climb. With bitter winds at high altitudes, Chris admits that this was his hardest expedition to date, and is happy to be back behind a warm desk at atg UV headquarters in Wigan.
Chris comments:
"To go to the Himalaya's and reach the summit of Island Peak was an achievement for all of us. With temperatures of minus 20 degrees centigrade and long vertical climbs, the real difficulty was the altitude. Even with careful acclimatisation, all of us were affected at different points of the climb."
During the expedition Chris and his team visited the Kathmandu based Danielle Children's Fund charity, that provides a temporary home for disabled adolescents offering tailoring skills and training to assist integration into the community. Moved by their effort and determination, atg UV are pleased to announce they will be providing financial assistance to the charity.
