England Rugby choose atg UV Technology

With the threat of water born diseases at a high, it seems even the battle hardened, muscle bound giants of the England Rugby Union team are in need of protection.  atg UV Technology, market leaders in the design and manufacture of Ultraviolet treatment systems have been chosen to provide two ECF Ultraviolet disinfection chambers to protect swimming pool users of England Rugby's latest development, the London Marriot Hotel and Virgin Active leisure facility which will be located within the home of English Rugby, the infamous Twickenham stadium.

The two atg UV  Ultraviolet disinfection systems will provide protection for the hotels pools and state-of-the-art spas by allowing operators to achieve optimum water disinfection, protecting against harmful waterborne micro-organisms such as e-coli and Legionella.

atg's Ultraviolet treatment is ideally suited for England Rugby's swimming pool applications, as unlike traditional chemical treatment, the effectiveness of Ultraviolet disinfection is not limited to a select number of  micro-organisms, and will safeguard against all known bacteria, viruses and pathogens, including organisms such as Cryptosporidium which are highly resistant to Chlorine.

Additionally, Ultraviolet treatment will also break down chloramines, resulting in a more pleasant and inviting leisure environment for customers, reducing ‘Red Eye', skin irritations and overpowering chlorine smells often associated with indoor swimming facilities.  The elimination of chloramines also produces crystal clear, sparkling water, and vastly reduces the need for taxing shock treatments and backwashes.

The two atg UV systems feature an automatic wiper to prevent the build-up of deposits on the quartz tube, and UV monitoring to ensure the systems consistently run at an optimum level.  A state-of-the-art SPECTRA control system provides leisure operators with data on flow rate, UV dose and intensity whilst the SPECTRA's integrated data logger provides performance data which can be easily downloaded to a PC or Laptop for review.
