atg UV Technology Open New UK Head Quarters.

Her Majesty's Representative, The Lord Lieutenant for Greater Manchester Formally Opened the Ultraviolet Technology Firms New Head Quarters Whilst Presenting atg UV with the Queens Award for Enterprise.

atg UV Technology, leaders in the design and manufacture of UV disinfection systems for municipal, industrial and aquatic applications, celebrates the opening of their new headquarters in Wigan, Greater Manchester.  In a double ceremony, the representative of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, The Lord Lieutenant for Greater Manchester Mr Warren Smith declared the new building, Genesis House officially open and then awarded atg UV with the equivalent of a business knighthood, the Queens Award for International Trade. 

The opening of Genesis House will allow atg UV to accommodate their rapidly growing level of business, brought by the company's remarkably swift penetration and worldwide growth in a number of key markets.  The company is expanding for a second time in less than five years, following a joint venture in Chicago, USA where atg UV developed a second manufacturing site and sales office to accommodate the hugely successful introduction of UV systems into the US aquatic market.  

The name Genesis house represents a new beginning for atg UV Technology, and will now act as their new head quarters for both international sales and manufacturing, providing atg UV with almost three times more production capacity and double the office space for their sales, marketing, service, technical development and engineering departments.

Managing Director Chris Purslow comments: "We were able to build a new state-of-the-art production facility and office block alongside our existing premises in less than 8 months.  The development of Genesis House will not only make us more competitive in the world market, but will allow atg UV to triple our production and sales capacity and create new jobs in the local area". 

The Lord Lieutenant, Mr Warren Smith commented:  "The Queen's Award for Enterprise is the UK's highest honour for a UK business, atg UV should be extremely proud to have achieved this Royal standard of excellence".  

The double ceremony took place in front of over 100 guests made up of current and past employees, friends, family and local council members including MP for Wigan Mr Neil Turner Councillor Mr Paul Prescott and local Mayor Mr Mark Aldred.   With exciting research and development projects and key advancements in their system technology planned for 2010, atg UV are looking forward to the future and remain committed to maintaining the high standards expected from the UK's market leader, and Queen's Award Winner.
