R&D / Validation

R&D / Validation

atg UV Technology are committed to continuous innovation and product development. The technical aspects of the business are split in to two main sections Research and Development and Validations/Approvals . These topics are covered in more detail further down the page.

Validations / Approval Testing

atg are committed to providing Ultraviolet disinfection systems that deliver the required amount of UV for a given application. With this in mind along with the increasing pressure on facilities to assure sufficient treatment, atg have invested in Bio Dose Testing on selected product ranges. This enables atg to offer "Validated" systems.

atg UV Drinking water system validation

The validation testing has been carried out in accordance with the Untied States Environmental Protection Agencies, Ultraviolet Disinfection Guidance Manual (UVDGM). The EPA method is one of the most modern and rigorous testing regimes allowing for flexible operation of the Validated equipment.

In certain areas it is now compulsory to fit UV to as part of the water treatment. For instance in New York State USA, It is compulsory to fit UV on spray-pad type aquatic features. atg have worked closely with the New York Department of Health (DoH) to ensure the testing surpassed the DoH requirements. As a result atg have supplied many Validated systems throughout New York State.

Research and Development

At atg R&D is taken very seriously, we are continually looking for ways to improve our current product offering and investigate new ideas and processes in search of the more efficient and advanced fluid treatment systems.

atg are involved in many research and development projects both internally and in group research studies. We are currently working in a pan-European project investigating Ballast Water treatment systems. This research is being carried out to help safeguard the environment and reduce the impact of ships moving ballast waters around the world. This is an increasingly serious problem with a number of cases of ‘transported organisms' thriving in new environments to the detriment of native species. atg also carried out a number of in house research projects looking at the use of UV for special applications or combining UV with other complimentary treatments to increase the efficiency of certain processes.
